I Just Love Spring!

I can't help myself, but I just love spring. Spring represents new life, new energy, new growth, new opportunities, new love, and a new start. Here's a few images that are part of a series of greeting cards and calendars I'm creating that I wanted to share with you. This weekend I'll post the links to the wallpaper versions for your computer. Chat with you later and remember -never stop dreaming!

Remembering Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day! The weather is great so I hope you spent sometime outside today and enjoyed this gift from God.

This afternoon I pulled over to capture a few cool pics of flowers along the road and all of a sudden I heard this really load noise overhead. When I looked up it was a squadron of WWII planes flying in formation. Well, after they passed (and I grabbed a quick shot) I jumped in my car to return home to go swimming. And then I started thinking about just how blessed I am to live in such a rich and vibrant country.

For example, I spent my morning playing tennis with Tobius Brown (public speaker, author, and great tennis player), shot a few pics along the way, and now I'm home eating and getting ready to chill out at the pool. There are literally hundreds of millions of people who can't even dream of having a day like mine. I am truly blessed and sometime I don't even know it - until now!

I know life can be tough, and I know we all go through challenges. But, we live in a country where we can not only make a living but have fun doing something we love - taking pictures.

So, on this Memorial Day I encourage you to remember the men and women who gave their lives so that we could truly live an abundant life in the land of the free. God bless you and have a great Memorial Day!

(This photo is 23 years old and yet it still "touches" me everytime I see it. It was one of my very first black and white pictures and my High School Photography teacher developed it for me. Maybe it's the soldier in me, but I just love it. May it bless and inspire you to live your life like there's no tomorrow!)

My New Neighbor

When I returned home I discovered that someone had moved in next door. May I introduce you to my new neighbor (I'll keep the noise down if he won't eat everything in sight). Have a great weekend!

Introducing Sprinoramics!

Just a short blurb to wish you a safe, joyous and fun-filled Memorial Day weekend. And, since I love spring and panoramics I thought I'd create a new kind of seasonal photo called "Sprinoramics." So, here's my first Sprinoramic. Have a great time and be safe this holiday weekend!

I'm back and I just love spring!

It's great to be back and I am so excited about what lies ahead! Spring not only represents a new season in nature, but it also represents a new season in our lives. Spring represents new hope, new joy, new growth, new energy, new opportunities and new life. I have 14 rolls of film developing and another 10 recently scanned, so we are going to have fun growing and sharing with one another.

Here's a few of my future post card and poster images from my spring collection. May they touch your heart and remind you that it's time for a new season of growth!

Also, just as a tease get ready for the "Sam Barr Show" podcast. I'll share more about that when I return. Be blessed, keep shooting and never stop dreaming! I'll chat with you in 2 weeks. :-)

Encouragement Series: Determination

Have you ever found yourself wondering if your hopes and dreams would really come true? I have and on more occasions than I care to mention. And, I'm not alone.

Whenever I read an autobiography of one of the famous people I admire, I discover that they too had to work through periods of doubt and unbelief. And, what kept them moving forward was vision and determination. We'll deal with vision next month, but for now let's talk about determination.

Now, I want you to hear me as if I was preaching from the Gospels - your dreams WILL COME TRUE but you're going to have to p.u.s.h (pray until something happens) and push and push and push some more! Make up your mind that your dreams are worth living for. I don't care if you have go around an obstacle, under it, or through it - but starting today you WILL NOT QUIT no matter what!

If you really want it, "it" can be yours if you're determined to not to let anything or anyone stand in your way.

Panoramic Pandemonium!

I just love panoramic pictures. I can't really explain why, and I can't seem to get enough of them. According to Mr. Webster a panoramic image is:

2 a : an unobstructed or complete view of an area in every direction b : a comprehensive presentation of a subject...

I'm getting ready for my Hasselblad XPan II, and in the interim I've been shooting my pans with a Fuji APS camera. Here are several of my favorite panoramic photos. I've have another 25 to post, so in the famous words of Gov. Terminator "I'll be back!" ;-)
