It's official...

...I've fallen in love with infrared photography. I know, I know. But, I can't help myself. I love the rich dark tones and the bright contrast and highlights. And, I've got a great idea for a bridal portrait using infrared, so stay tuned as that shot will definitely be hot! Plus, I will soon begin shooting color infrared images - this is going to be fun. Be blessed and keep shooting!

I'm Lovin' It!

I've got to tell you, Adobe Lightroom is a wonderful editing tool. Does it replace Photoshop? No. But, Adobe has created a new application that works well with Photoshop and now we have two must-have image editing tools.

Because Lightroom makes it so easy to edit your images, the majority of your editing can be done in Lightroom and then the remaining editing in Photoshop. With both programs, you can really let your imagination fly! These images were all edited in Lightroom using Scott Robert's presets. You tell me, do you like? Adobe has released a new version of Lightroom that you can download and try for 30 days.

Appreciating God's creation

Happy Sunday! I'm off to return to the land of the corn fields to "sow a seed" into the heart of a very close friend and his family. But, before I take off I wanted to share a few new infrared shots created using Scott Robert's Adobe Lightroom presets. Lightroom makes it sooooooooo easy to edit your images that once you try it, you have to have it. And, since it is such a powerful editing tool you can really take your images to "places" that formerly only existed in your imagination.

For example, these two images were just "OK" as color images. But, when I converted them into infrared images they became works of art that really show God's glory in his creation. We'll talk more about seeing God's glory in His creation later but for now have a blessed day and remember - His beauty is present in everything that surrounds us.

A star is born!

She is a star! The agency loved her (I knew they would). I'm sooooooooo happy for her and her parents as this little young lady is just precious. Please keep them lifted in prayer as they move into a new realm of opportunities and adventure. Have a great weekend!

Just Messin' Around

Happy Friday everyone! I'm cleaning up my image library and "ran" across these nature shots that I forgot to share. I also forgot to share the images from a recent fashion show I covered - you're going to really dig those pics. So, until then have a blessed weekend!

Still more from the Farm: The Details

There were a few more really cool images from my visit to the Volkening Heritage Farm that highlighted the details of life in the late 19th century that I wanted to share with you. And do you want to know something? The more I reflect on my visit the more in awe I am of the Human Spirit. Think about it - life back then was extremely difficult with scorchingly hot summers and brutally cold winters. And yet, despite having very little and lots of back-breaking work just to survive, they made it. And, if they can make it with all of the obstacles they had to overcome - so can we! Have a blessed and empowered day and remember - no matter what you're facing right now - you can make it!

And a few bonus portraits!

Out There Somewhere

Happy Monday! Just wanted to share a few images from the farms I visited this weekend. I was house shopping and drove out a bit into the country to view several homes that I'm interested in purchasing. While driving around the neighborhood I saw some of the most beautiful farm scenes I've ever seen. Unfortunately, most of this "way" of living has all but disappeared. I'll have to revisit this area soon and spend more time capturing the beauty of being out there somewhere. Have a blessed and empowered day!
